Course overview

The fashion designer imagines and draws the patterns that make up an haute couture or ready-to-wear collection. They interpret trends to create their own style, taking into account technical constraints related to materials and accessories. Their know-how, which combines creativity and technique, makes them skilled professionals, the first link in the textile design chain.

Upon completion of your training, you will be able to acquire the skills needed to take a product from concept to market.

  • in-depth knowledge of textiles, materials and technical solutions that will enable you to create a portfolio
  • the theoretical knowledge needed to create and research trends
  • how to develop the creative, artistic and technical skills essential to the fashion designer

  • the techniques for taking measurements

Outline and content

We have designed a comprehensive training program based on 80% practice and 20% theory, and focusing on two learning areas:

Fashion design (474h) :

  • fashion design
  • fashion sketching
  • fashion accessories
  • color theory
  • coloration techniques
  • decoration

Theory (134h) :

  • research methodology
  • technical sheets
  • collection - portfolio
  • project technique
  • history of costume
  • textiles and materials
  • sociology and marketing
  • Photoshop / Illustrator

Internship (140h during school vacations)

Price: 10 800 € for one year of training

Course access

Entry is possible at any time of the year, following an interview to establish the candidate's profile and needs.

Duration and schedule

Training takes place over a total of 600 hours spread over 30 weeks (1 year), excluding school vacations (except the internship period).

Classes take place over half-days in the morning or afternoon, and all day on Fridays, according to the following timetable :

  • monday, tuesday, and thursday : 9h to 12h or 13h30 to 16h30
  • friday : 9h to 12h and 13h30 to 16h30

Professional sewing workshop equipped with:

  • technical platform comprising industrial flatbed stitchers, automatic thread cutters and industrial overlock machines
  • semi-industrial machines for a wide range of jobs
  • invisible hems machine
  • industrial electric cutter
  • dual-drive machine

  • embroiderer machine
  • coating machines
  • ironing equipment
  • high tables for cutting
  • male/female mannequins and one adjustable female mannequin (size 38 to 52)
  • technical and pedagogical pattern sheets based on Rosa Addabbo's method (square, parrot, light table, etc.)
  • haberdashery

Evaluation methods

At the end of each module, a theoretical and practical knowledge test will be given, and at the end of the course, students will be given a final theoretical and practical exam.
