Course overview

This course will enable operators to acquire the basics of garment making, in a professional way, to meet the needs of a company.

Upon completion of your training, you will be able to acquire the operational basics for using a flatbed stitcher and an industrial serger.

Learning objectives

By the end of this course, you will have learned:

  • basic clothing knowledge of materials and equipments
  • to apply safety and ergonomic rules at the workstation
  • to apply the quality criteria
  • how to master basic stitching operations
  • how to master basic overlock operations

Outline and content

We have designed a comprehensive training program based on 80% practice and 20% theory, and focusing on two learning areas:

Practice (52h) :

  • assembling
  • finishing
  • equipment description and workstation set-up
  • ergonomics at the workstation
  • the study and change of accessories and tools « needle, presser foot, guide... »
  • threading
  • safety and precautions to take

Theory(24h) :

  • textiles
  • technical information sheets
  • assembly range
Price: 1 748 € for about 2 months

Course access

Entry is possible at any time of the year, following an interview to establish the candidate's profile and needs.

Duration and schedule

The course lasts a total of 76 hours, spread over 8 and a half weeks.

Evaluation methods

A weekly learning assessment grid and a workstation evaluation on the company's products will be carried out.
